This "Martini" Porsche 935 turbo racing model was based on the 930 turbo and was developed in 1976 in accordance with the FIA Group 5 rules. Mounted in the rear was a flat-6 air-cooled 2857cc KKK turbocharged motor which thumped out a massive 590hp. The "Martini" debuted with a win at the season's opening race in March 1976, as well as the second round race. But with BMW winning the 3rd, 4th, and 5th rounds and threatening to run away with the series, Porsche fought back to win the final two races and snatch the championship.
