The McLaren M8B was dominant in the 1969 Can-Am championship, winning all eleven races. Founder and driver of the McLaren team, Bruce McLaren won the championship ahead of his team mate, Denny Hulme, winning six of the races on the way. The car was a modified version of the successful M8A and featured the striking ‘high wing’ designed to generate downforce on the rear of the car.
GMP have done a superb job on this model with features including fabric seatbelts, opening doors and the ability to remove the wing and body panels in order to see more of the engine detail. The engine detail is very good, with wiring and fuel lines attached.
